Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.68% or 142.74 points at 20,929.72.

Japan's Nikkei shed 0.98% or 91.47 points at 9,271.21.

Singapore's Straits Times was down 0.39% or 11.39 points at 2,935.38.

South Korea's Seoul Composite slipped 0.39% or 6.92 points at 1,772.72.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted was down 0.12% or 9.15 points at 7,919.79.
