MARKET VIEW WEEKLY GAINERS & LOSERS SECTOR WISE

On a weekly basis, Indian markets underperformed the global peers. Benchmark indices remained in a very narrow range through out the week with the Nifty ranging between the 5090-5160 levels. Volatility and volumes were at lower levels.
However, what was seen is that the FIIs continued to be net buyers during the week, making purchases to the tune of Rs44.48bn in the past three days. Finally, the BSE Sensex ended at 17,166 and the NSE Nifty shut shop at 5,137 adding 1% each.
The BSE Sensex hit an intra-week high of 17,244.54 and low of 17,027 while NSE Nifty hit an intra-week high of 5,158 and low of 5,092.
The top gainers: The top gainers in the Sensex were Ambuja Cements (up 6.6%), ITC (up 5.6%), HDFC (up 4.9%), TCS (up 4.5%) and ICICI Bank (up 3.9%).
The Top Losers: The top losers in the Sensex were Hindustan Unilever (down 9.7%), Tata Motors (down 4.2%), Reliance Infrastructure (down 3.6%), NTPC (down 2.8%) and Reliance Power (down 2.1%).
The BSE IT Index: The top gainers in the IT sector were Patni Computer (up 5.9%), TCS (up 4.5%), Wipro (up 3.5%), Financial Tech (up 2.9%) and Sasken Communication (up 2%).
The top losers were Mahindra Satyam (down 1.5%), Mphasis (down 0.7%) and Oracle Financial (down 0.6%).
The BSE Consumer Index: The top losers in the consumer durables were Samtel Color (down 5.9%), Videocon Industries (down 2.4%), Titan (down 1.5%) and Mirc Electronics (down 0.9%).
The top gainers in the consumer durables sector were Whirlpool (up 8.6%) and Blue Star (up 6.7%).
The BSE Healthcare Index: The top gainers in the Pharma space were Torrent Pharma (up 7.4%), Ipca Labs (up 4.8%), Piramal Healthcare (up 4%), Emami (up 3.7%) and Lupin (up 3.4%).
The top losers were Zandu Pharma (down 4.3%), Morepen Labs (down 3.7%), Glenmark Pharma (down 3.6%), Wockhardt (down 3.3%) and Divi Labs (down 2.4%).
The BSE Banking Index:The top losers in the banking space were Union Bank of
India
(down 6.1%), Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 5.7%), Canara Bank (down 4.9%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 3.2%) and Andhra Bank (down 2.9%).
The top gainers were Allahabad Bank (up 4.7%), Axis Bank (up 4.3%), Bank of Baroda (up 4.1%), ICICI Bank (up 3.9%) and Federal Bank (up 1.2%).
The BSE Auto Index:The top losers in the auto space were Ashok Leyland (down 7.2%), Tata Motors (down 4.2%), Hindustan Motors (down 3.8%), Swaraj Mazda (down 3.2%) and Bajaj Auto (down 3.1%).
The top gainers were M&M (up 6%), Hero Honda (up 2.6%) and Maruti Suzuki (up 0.4%).
The BSE Oil & Gas Index:The top losers in the oil & gas space were Gujarat NRE Coke (down 7.6%), MRPL (down 3.8%), GSPL (down 3.7%), Hindustan Oil (down 3.1%) and HPCL (down 2.5%).
The top gainers were Chennai Petroleum (up 4.2%), Cairn India (up 3.1%), Essar Oil (up 2.4%), Great Offshore (up 2.3%) and Reliance Industries (up 1.2%).
The BSE Capital Goods Index:The top losers in the capital goods space were Kirloskar Brothers (down 27.5%), Astra Microwave (down 6.2%), Dredging Corp (down 4.3%), HEG (down 4.2%) and Crompton Greaves (down 2.9%).
The top gainers were Thermax (up 8.2%), ABB (up 5.9%), Jyoti Structures (up 3.8%), SKF India (up 3.8%) and Alstom Projects (up 3.7%).
The Cement Sector: The top gainers in the cement sector were Dalmia Cement (up 9.4%), Madras Cements (up 5%), Shree Cement (up 3.4%), ACC (up 3.1%) and Mangalam Cement (up 3%).
The top losers in the cement sector were India Cements (down 5%), Kakatiya Cement (down 4.8%), Binani Indus (down 3.9%), Gujarat Sidhee (down 3.9%) and Birla Corp (down 1.8%).
The Telecom Sector: The top losers in the telecom space were Gemini Comm (down 22.4%), Himachal Futuristic (down 6.6%), WWIL (down 5%), Tata Teleservice (down 4.7%) and RCom (down 4.5%).
The Realty Sector:The top losers in the Realty space were Parsvnath (down 6.3%), HDIL (down 5.5%), Omaxe (down 4.6%), Unitech (down 4.4%) and Sobha Developers (down 2.6%).
The top gainers were Anant Raj Indus (up 11.9%), Akruti City (up 2.2%), Ansal Props (up 1.4%).
The Metals sector:The top gainers in the metals sector were Monnet Ispat (up 14.3%), Tata Sponge (up 4.9%), Adhunik Metaliks (up 2.8%), Bhuwalka Steel (up 0.3%).
The top losers in the metals sector were Tata Metaliks (down 4.1%), Jindal Steel (down 2.8%), Bhushan Steel (down 2.5%), Sunflag Iron (down 2.3%) and Tata Steel (down 1.7%).
