Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 2.87% or 568.40 points at 19,211.67.

Japan's Nikkei tumbled 3.94% or 389.70 points at 9,511.49.

Singapore's Straits Times shed 2.18% or 61.16 points at 2,745.35.

South Korea's Seoul Composite slipped 2.56% or 42.59 points at 1,621.54.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted fell 3.43% or 252.18 points at 7,092.41.
