Asian markets were trading mixed. China's Shanghai Composite gained 1.54% or 39.84 points at 2,623.36.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down 0.39% or 75.55 points at 19,470.28.

Japan's Nikkei was down 0.28% or 27.30 points at 9,757.24.

Singapore's Straits Times added 1.03% or 27.88 points at 2,729.08.

South Korea's Seoul Composite was down 0.19% or 2.97 points at 1,597.21.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted advanced 0.54% or 39.01 points at 7,276.72.
